Amboy Road Development near the French Broad River

The property on the north side of Amboy Road near the French Broad River, between  Joyner, has changed hands, and recently undergone the beginning of clearing and reshaping.

As promised by the developer, talks about the future of that property have been directed to River Link, and they are now acting as community liaison.

The following invitation was forwarded to us by Karen Cragnolin, Executive Director of River Link. It announces two meetings to introduce the developer and plans for the land in question. According to Karen, we can anticipate seeing drawings and having many of our questions answered at these meetings.

I expect as many of you as have an interest will attend one, so we can maximize input. Speaking strictly for myself, I believe this is the time for open communication and civil dialog. We all hope that our greenest and most community conscious ideas will be heard and considered for incorporation into site plans.

The Bar Hopper rides! West Asheville Bar Hopping made safe and easy.

The new Asheville Bar Hopper starts up tomorrow, runs Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Hopefully will reduce traffic and DUIs in West Asheville

$5/$3 is one way. You can buy a $9 round trip also.
They are figuring it out. Still, cheaper than a cab, and more fun than the bus, since you can take a can of beer to sip on while you’re riding!

Robert White soon to be released from prison

We have heard that Robert B. White, of West Asheville, will be released from prison later this month.

He has a very long history of felonies, including violent crimes and assaulting police officers. Chances are good he will be back here in West Asheville, just so you know.

You can see his prison record here.  Just your run of the mill stuff, like 6 burglaries, assault on a female, resisting arrest, child abuse, DWI, and all the way back to his first adult arrest for drug paraphernalia in 2001. You can bet there were now-sealed Juvenile arrests too.

Why he has not been listed as a habitual felon is beyond comprehension.
