Kim Jordan, CEO and Jay Richardson, Asheville project manager for New Belgium pressed the flesh and got to know about their new neighbors here in West Asheville. From snippets of reports we have heard so far, they still have a lot to learn.

Among the snippets passed on to us so far:

No word on the types of jobs until the end of the year.

The distribution center will definitely be in Buncombe County.

The full-scale demolition of the site’s buildings should begin by the end of Mar. 2013.

Did you try some of the free beer?

The crush of the interested surrounded the principals, city staff and many businesses who will be partnering with New Belgium ranging from those who will demolish and recycle materials from existing buildings, to city planners with maps and charts, and others with various interests in the project.

For those who could brave the crowd and get through to see, there were informational handouts and lots of face time jammed in tight among the throngs.
